How Does Technological Innovation Mediate the Relationship between Environmental Regulation and High-Quality Economic Development? Empirical Evidence from China

Technological innovation is considered to be an effective way promote the quality of economic development and green transition under environmental policies, while specific mechanism this process still unclear. Thus, purpose paper was examine how technological mediates relation between regulation high-quality development. Based on panel data 34 industries in China from 2007 2015, firstly calculated total factor productivity (GTFP) as a proxy variable for through super-slack-based measure model, then analyzed impact technical GTFP by making use mediation effect model. The results showed that environmental-related policy directly affected indirectly moderated process, where moderate industrial heterogeneous. Specifically, positively partially clean high-tech industries, but completely low-and medium-tech industries. Moreover, mediating pollution-intensive positive insignificant.
